Hey I've let myself do a quick overpaint. hope you don't mind. [link]
Actually all I've done is adding a little bit of atmosphere to enhance the depth and shift values a bit. Upper left is your original, my 1 minute overpaint is on the right. Bottom two are desaturated versions of the top ones. Anyway, notice that in the original there is no difference in value between foreground and the background - it confuses your eye and brain so the whole image looks flat. To fix that, all you need to do is darken the foreground and lighten the background, at least near the border between these two, there has to be a bit of contrast to create the feeling of depth. You can make this by adding some atmospheric fog, it enhances depth very well
